Deep in the jungle of the Dominican Republic lies the most beautiful resort I may have ever been to. Located a 2.5 hour drive from the Santo Domingo Airport, the Dominican Tree House Village is a piece of true paradise. When you arrive in the village of Samanà, you can immediately feel how welcome you are to their piece of heaven. You walk the 10 minute path through lush greens in a tropical jungle to see the Tree House Cabins. Rope bridges and jungle paths greet you around every corner. The open-air design of your Tree House allows you to feel the breeze, hear the bird call, and connect with the immense vitality of jungle life. You room has a beautiful bed with a net to keep out any extra bugs and two swings to enjoy your view in the afternoon. Each standard TreeHouse has a bathroom and shower. (Which is cold and feels amazing in the hot humidity of the jungle)
Your days are spent exploring or joining the rest of the guests for a tropical excursion. From ziplining the 12 Ziplines with Samanà Ziplining to horse back riding, to waterfalls and ATV riding on tropical beaches, there is something for anyone looking for adventure.
Our favorite activity was riding the bikes to the beach to enjoy a homemade seafood lunch and fresh Piña Coladas at the Tiki Hut. We started our mornings in the Yoga Hut followed by breakfast with the freshest fruit. Our evenings were spent with the community of guests and staff enjoying a family style meal, trying new Caribbean Rums and comparing our adventures from the day. By the end of our trip we all felt like a family.
You are completely disconnected at the Tree House Village, and in our life this is truly amazing. Wifi is available a short walk from the Tree Houses if you do need to reach the outside world. But when you are in paradise, you realize how to let go of most of the outside world.
