5 Steps to the Perfect Girls Night In – mother daughter version
With Ian’s busy schedule there are nights where it is just the three of us girls. We have our routine of playtime after school, dinner, bath, a story and then bed. I know for myself, and the girls, this can get a little boring. Once a month I love to plan a girls night in when Ian is away. Last night Ian had busy evening out so from the moment the girls walked through the door I had it all set.
1. Matching Outfits and photo shoot-
I ran the girls upstairs to get ready. I found us adorable matching sweaters from Children’s Place (yes they have a size 16 so I can match!) and we did our hair. The girls each took a turn getting their hair curled and we headed downstairs for a fun photo shoot with our selfie stick.
2. Sweets before dinner! –
After our photo shoot we chowed down on Sprinkles Care Bear Cupcakes! They are the cutest things and available until January 25th!
3. Game Time- My girls love playing board games together. Our all time favorite for girls night is Candyland but Penna loves to get me to lose in Operation. She giggles so hard when I mess up since I used to be a nurse.
4. Mani Pedis – We all know how gross our kids finger nails can get so I love taking this opportunity to make nail hygiene fun. We play salon and the girls get to pick out their favorite color and I will paint their nails. Mia even got the Orbez Foot Spa to make the experience even more fun!
5. 80’s/90’s Family Movie-
After our nails are dry, we get into our cozy matching PJ’s and prep the popcorn for girlie movies. We crawl into our big master bed and get under the covers all cuddled up. I love getting the girls to watch one of my favorite childhood movies. I convinced them to watch Honey I Shrunk The Kids this night. The last girls night we watched Secret Garden. (Matlida is also a great girls night movie)
I hope you have an amazing girls night in with your little one!
