This week, in the Ziering house, we had our very first visit from the Tooth Fairy. On July 6th Mia Ziering lost her first tooth! It had to have been lose in her mouth for at least a month. She was terrified for days that it was going to hurt when it fell out. She would cry just thinking about it. The entire day before she lost it she refused to eat because it was wiggling. That was until I brought home a bag of candy and left it on the counter! One bite into mamas sour candy and it popped out. Mia squealed with joy!
For weeks ahead of time I was planning for the arrival of the tooth fairy. I love all things magical and getting to be a fairy was one of the most exciting jobs to me. I set up a small fairy door at the base of Mia and Penna’s bunk bed for the fairy to magical enter their world. I pre-ordered a fairy book from amazon (see link below) to keep the teeth in. I even ordered one for Penna so they would have the same books in the future. I stocked up on glitter to prepare for the pixie dust storm! Ian and I agreed to leave Mia a $2 bill as the price for a tooth. He went to the bank to get $2 bills so we would be prepared.
The night of, Mia wrote the sweetest note to the tooth fairy. She wanted to know what her name was. She tucked it under her pillow with her tooth. That night I snuck in and exchanged her tooth and note for a $2 bill and a note from the fairy. I named her fairy Fushia Fruity Fairy for fun. I spread glitter all over there room and waited for the response!
The next morning Mia woke up as the happiest little girl ever. A magical tooth fairy had been in her room and life was good. She was more excited about the note and glitter than what she even got as a prize for her tooth. I think her face says it all!
